BOXING ACCESSORIES
Due to the violent nature of the sport and the damage and punishment that the human body endures boxing accessories are an integral part of any participant’s kit. Tape, gauze and gel are used to prevent the many small bones in the hand from breaking. Gloves vary in weight and size according to whether the fight is amateur or professional. Other essential boxing accessories include gum shields which protect the athlete’s teeth, whilst groin protectors are also used to protect the fighter down below. Amateur fighters will also have to wear head protection to prevent brain damage. These are not used in professional fights although many professional fighters will use them when sparring.
